Come Out CNY Night at the Theater: Fun Home
Saturday, May 24 | Redhouse Arts Center

Come Out CNY is taking over the Redhouse for a special night of theater, connection, and community—and you're invited.

8:00 PM – Fun Home
Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Fun Home is a moving, funny, and beautifully honest story based on queer cartoonist Alison Bechdel’s acclaimed graphic memoir. It follows Alison’s journey as she pieces together memories of her childhood, her coming-out experience, and her relationship with her closeted father. Directed by Redhouse Artistic Director Temar Underwood, this is a show that will stay with you long after the curtain falls.

7:00 PM – Pre-Show Reception
Arrive early to mingle with the Central New York LGBTQ+ community at our casual pre-show reception. We’ll have a cash bar with wine, beer, and signature cocktails curated by Epicuse, plus special guest bartenders (All tips go to CNY Pride, so bring your cash!) and the chance to meet Temar Underwood before the show.

Exhibition with Local Artist Jon Cairns
Be sure to check out the exhibition of stunning graphic art by local queer artist Jon Cairns in the Redhouse Gallery—and meet the artist himself. Select pieces will be available for purchase.

Pop-up Library
Browse a curated pop-up library from the Onondaga County Public Library inspired by Fun Home. (Borrow a book—return it later at any branch!)

Community Book Drive
As part of Fun Home’s run, Redhouse is hosting a book drive to support the Q Center for LGBTQ Youth Library. We invite you to bring new or gently used LGBTQ+-affirming books to donate. It’s an easy and meaningful way to support local queer youth.

Special Offer
Use code ComeoutCNY for $40 tickets.
Call the Redhouse Box Office at 315-362-2785 or visit the Redhouse ticketing website to reserve your seat.

Let’s celebrate the power of queer storytelling and gather for a night that’s all about art, identity, and community!
